Testimonials
I have been that person who was taught that counseling is taboo and means that you have something inherently wrong within you. It wasn’t until I met Evan that I learned I could take control of my own destiny and carve a new path for my future. I met Evan at a time of turmoil and with immediate needs. Throughout that process of healing and growing I also learned that counseling for me would be most important if used proactively. I am in what I consider the most emotionally educated stage of my life and continue with Evan as a method of growth and proactive prevention for life’s obstacles to come. I am proud and forever grateful for the positive changes that Miller Counseling has brought to my life.
Evan provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients to express their experiences, thoughts, and emotions. As someone who was new to therapy, I was somewhat apprehensive about my first few visits. Evan helped guide me through those feelings and now have been a regular with him for over a year. While there is still plenty of room to grow, I feel significantly better than before I began seeing him. Evan has a keen memory, and this shows up in conversation with him; he recalls previous references to stories or family members which creates a comfort level that has helped me be more open. He provides a fresh perspective on how to address issues and hardships while providing the validation that one needs to build confidence. He also has a good sense of humor and keeps me honest with myself regardless of where my head is at.
I often tell Evan at the end of sessions, “I had no clue what we're going to dive into today”, but every time we end up coming across something significant in my life. I always leave sessions feeling better than when I showed up.
I would absolutely recommend Evan's services to anyone considering visiting a therapist.
